What Is REIKI?
REIKI (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese technique for relaxation that also promotes health and wellbeing. It was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s.
It is administered by “laying on hands” and it is based on the idea that there is an unseen life force energy that gives us life. If this energy is low we might feel sick. If this energy is high we will feel happy and healthy.
REIKI works on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. It allows for your whole energy field to heal.
The word REIKI is formed by two Japanese words:
– Rei: which means God’s Wisdom or Higher Power
– Ki: which means Life Force Energy
If you put them together REIKI actually means Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy.
